About the HCAC Guild
In the Fall of 2004, There were several people in the old HCAC office doing a newsletter mailing. Jane Lesesne casually commented that the Haywood County Arts Council needed a Volunteer organization like a Guild. The seed was planted, and in February 2005, the Guild of the Haywood County Arts Council was born. The first slate of officers was installed in May 2005. They were Norretta Taylor, Sharon Hall, Pat Wall, Jenny Nimnick, and John Shafer.
We are a group of volunteers from all walks of life who are interested in the arts. We are natives to Waynesville, and newcomers, seasonal and full-time residents. We understand the importance for maintaining the arts for the good of Haywood County.
The Guild's mission is to promote, support and assist the Haywood County Arts Council through volunteerism and fundraising.
Throughout the year, the Guild provides volunteers for Gallery 86, Art After Dark, Gallery 86 Receptions, International Festival Day, concert performances, outreach programs, and HCAC office and we are always coming up with fresh ideas to help raise money for the arts!

Purpose
The purpose of the Guild shall be to promote the mission of the Haywood County Arts Council through the activities and services requested by the Arts Council Board, the Executive Director, and through activities recommended by the Guild.
Vision Statement
In order to further our mission, we will increase community awareness and interest in the arts. Through community activities and in Gallery 86 and its programs; sustain an enthusiastic membership and strive to ensure the future growth of the Guild. The Guild as auxiliary to the Haywood County Arts Council Board of Trustees shall be subject to direction and guidance of the Board and with its projects in accordance with the policies of the Board.
