“Color is my day-long obsession, joy and torment.”  Claude Monet

I have always loved color and value, and the way light and color plays together.  I have traveled extensively and wherever I go, I take a sketchbook and travel watercolor set, to create travel journals to remember my trips.
My floral paintings are created with transparent watercolors, in a style called “negative painting”.  The technique allows for colors to blend on the page, but it is value that creates the painting.

I have only recently moved to North Carolina, and am inspired by the mountains, the glorious seasons, our wonderful rural lifestyle and the historic barns that abound throughout the area.
