Currently, my passion as a photographer is exploring the connection between a particular geography—its physical shape, natural history, the way it captures the light—and its human, animal, and botanical inhabitants. My intent is to capture living patterns and ecological relationships occurring within preserved, restored, or designed natural landscapes. I co-own Saturnia Farm, a small farm & nursery in Haywood County, where I get the opportunity to photograph plenty of flora & fauna daily. I love exploring Western North Carolina in my hiking boots, with my camera. In 2020, I was grateful to receive a Regional Artist Project Grant from Haywood Arts Council for my project Fog Frost Seed Stalk, which focused on photographing Southern Appalachian native plants in winter.
