Blue Ridge Pride

Haywood County Arts Council hosted their ‘Meet the Makers’, part of their first Pride month event. Blue Ridge Pride Center supported, in part, the event through our Community Partner Fund. Working with such groups allows us to help in a small way but more importantly it provides us an opportunity to share our mission and vision for the WNC region. Art is yet another form of education and advocacy. It works to provide visibility of the LGBTQ+ community which is vital to furthering the vision of inclusion.

The event was hosted at the Yellow House in Waynesville, a beautiful b/b. The artists presented their work and there was a q/a session. AND, the attendees painted some ceramics which will be featured in a future art exhibit. It was a great way to get people involved. Congratulations to all who helped make this event happen. We are proud to build a wonderful partnership.
