Peggy Duncan Bio
I have been a working artist for over 30 years. I graduated from a small commercial art school and worked in that field for a number of years.
My fine art studies have been guided by many well known artists in the pastel medium such as Alan Flattman, Herman Margulies, and William Leon Stacks who was my painting mentor for a number of years.
I paint in pastels as my main medium and am a Member of Excellence in the Southeastern Pastel Society and a Signature Member of the Appalachian Pastel Society. My work has been shown in numerous regional and national shows and has won many awards.
My subject matter is predominantly the landscape and floral still life. I paint in an impressionistic style with color and light being my main feature.
Today I work in pastel, acrylic, mixed media collage and lately having a lot of fun and freedom exploring alcohol inks.
I have taught workshops and small classes and enjoy seeing others discover the pastel medium thru these ventures.
