Solstice Owl, Watercolor, Gouache, and Pen
As a multi-media artist based in Western North Carolina, my deep love for the natural world is the primary driving force behind my work. Drawn to organic patterns and intricate details, I aim to capture these moments through a blend of watercolor and pen and ink, often incorporating gouache and acrylics. Beyond two-dimensional mediums, I explore pottery, linocut printmaking, and fabric art. Working plein air with a compact field kit allows me to capture immediate impressions, whether on a quiet hike, a multi-day river trip, or in urban landscapes. Ultimately, my art is an expression of gratitude for the more-than-human world, crafted to inspire others to pause and appreciate the simple, remarkable wonders around us.
