My name is Randy Rayl. I have been creating art since i was a kid. This creative outlet led me to teaching visual arts (3rd-9th grade) for 35 years.
I’m from southern Indiana, where i spent much of my life. I went to Indiana State University, graduating with an area art major. From there, i received my master’s degree at Indiana University (New Albany) in art education (k-12).
I have worked in many forms of art, from sculpture to drawing, and everything in between - ceramics, textiles, printmaking, lettering and painting. However, since retirement, i have been focusing on acrylic and watercolor. I enjoy working on paintings, using different techniques and styles with a variety of brushes.
Getting an idea for a piece of art can be tough at times. But, i am inspired by the world around me. I am always trying to find a way i can make those visions different and aesthetically pleasing.
